SI유닛 규정에 의하면

1meter
The meter is the length of the path traveled by light in vacuum during a time interval of 1/299,792,458 of a second.
즉, 빛이 진공상태에서 1/299,792,458 (약 3억분에1)초 동안 간 거리를 1미터라고 한답니다.
그걸 도대체 어떻게 측정하는지는 모르겠지만  여하튼 그렇다고 하네요.

보관되어 있는 플래티넘이리듐의 무게로 한다.
무게는 지구상의 위치, 주변기온, 습도등 여러가지에 영향을 받는 단위이기 때문에,
저렇게 정확한 위치까지 지정이 되어있는 것이죠.

킬로그램은..좀 불안하긴 하네요. =_=; 그 건물이 무너지기라도 하거나
